St. George Rotary says farewell to PDG Doug Quayle
Rotary has lost a longtime friend with the passing of our own Doug Quayle, who served SGR as president and then went on to serve as a District Governor. Doug was "one of the good guys" and will certainly be missed by those of us who knew him as a friend, neighbor and fellow Rotarian. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary. A viewing prior to the funeral on Thursday will be 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the St. George 5 & 6 Ward Chapel at 100 South 400 East. The funeral will be at 11 a.m.
St. George Rotary Club names new president
Janet O’Riley of St. George was recently installed as 2014-15 president of the 66-member Rotary Club of St. George, assuming duties and responsibilities from outgoing president, Durant McArthur.
Rotary Club seeks youth for leadership program
The Rotary Club of St. George is actively seeking up to four high school sophomores or juniors, in the 2014-15 school year, to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Award the weekend of Sept. 17-20 in Heber City.
City receives check from Rotary
Ken Sizemore and other members of the Rotary Club of St. George present a $5,400 check to the City of St. George on Thursday, dedicating the funds to help pay for a futsal court at J.C. Snow Park.
Rotarians build stoves as part of global service
Continuing the mission to provide international service, members of the St. George Rotary Club leave at the end of this month to head to Guatemala to help build stoves to help provide sustainable living environments for the Mayan women.

Centenarian celebrates 23 years of Rotary service
Elwin Anderson of Bloomington was recently recognized on his 22nd anniversary of membership in St. George Rotary Club, where he is also the club’s oldest member. At nearly 102 years old, it’s possible he is the most senior of any of more than 2,000 members in 47 Rotary clubs in the Utah District.
Pickett named Rotaractor of Year
Jayme Pickett, 2012-13 president of the Dixie State University’s Rotaract Club, has been named Rotaractor of the Year from among dozens of college-age nominees around the state.
Baker named Rotarian of Year
inda Baker, vice president of the southern region of Workers Compensation Fund, was recently named “Rotarian of the Year” by the St. George Rotary Club.
McArthur installed as Rotary president
Durant McArthur of St. George was installed as 2013-14 president of the 60-member Rotary Club of St. George, assuming duties and responsibilities from outgoing President Phillip Hall.
