NO MEETING TODAY ... we will not be meeting this week or next, but we hope Christmas 2025 is the best ever for you and your family. However, until we meet again on the first Monday of the New Year, there are still "service above self" opportunities such as ringing the bell for the Salvation Army (until Christmas Eve) OR enjoying noisy, chaotic fun at the St. George Children's Museum balloon drop on Wednesday, December 31.
In the New Year, we will gather again on Monday, January 5 at the Abbey Inn. During this beautiful time of year, enjoy your loved ones and your many blessings, including membership in St. George Rotary!
The 5th annual “Rotary Rudolph Run” was a welcome holiday event for 200+ residents living in the tribal community of Halchita , UT. With our very own Santa James Jackson and Mrs. Santa Janeil-Esplin Jackson overseeing all aspects of the project, assistance came by way of a very supportive committee including Lisa and Randy Shaw, Jim and Joann Coleman, Tom and Allison McArthur, Kolby and Naomi Traveller, Dale Desmond and Mont Gubler.
The 12-hour round trip on Friday, December 19 to the northern border of the Navajo reservation (considered “a nation within a nation”) in southeastern Utah, is one of SGR’s three International Service projects. This year, James and Janiel, with the help of Dale and Mont delivered 27 refurbished bikes, 82 hams, and other purchased and in-kind gifts of clothing, jewelry, and toys valued at more than $7000!!!

During our already busy 2025 holiday season, on Monday, December 15, a "baker's dozen" of SG Rotarians rang the bell for the Salvation Army (when we weren't meeting for lunch anyway), and collected an all-time high of $2610.92... the most we've ever raised (2nd highest was back in 2022 when our buckets filled to $1954.47).
If you have time between today (another day when we won't be meeting anyway) and Christmas Eve on Wednesday, you can ring for any 2-hour shift between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at your choice of a dozen locations around Washington County.

New and longtime members of SGR rang at businesses around WashCo!
This year's Christmas party on Monday, December 15 was a perfect combination of new and longtime members, friends and family; good food, including prime rib and salmon, and delicious desserts made by Carla and Lyn; great entertainment by the Dodge Brothers; an "ugly sweater" contest which Carla and David won (again, but sadly there is no picture because the photographer was so "shocked"); and a gift exchange. There was also plenty of toe-tapping; take home boxes and gales of laughter.
Thanks to the "Is It FUNNN?" Committee who put this event together and to all those who showed up for the food, friends and fun!!!

It's now been 8 weeks without a case of WPI with paralysis reported in either of the world's two endemic countries. This "joyful news" means we're still at a worldwide total in 2025 of 39 cases ... 9 in Afghanistan and 30 in Pakistan.
