Boston Thiriot needs 4-5 volunteers to help on Wednesday, June 10 with the restoration of the Pine Valley fishing dock after it was destroyed by fire last year. Work on his project will begin at 8:37 a.m. with lunch at noon donated by Jimmy Johns (identify yourself at the gate as volunteers for the Eagle project and they'll let you in ... otherwise there could be a very hefty fine)!!!

Volunteers are needed for direct work on the dock including sorting lumber and plastic decking, drilling, hammering and trash patrol.

The weather will be fabulous and the company will be fun. Join us if you can. Questions? Contact Bryan.

SGR's intrepid adventurers are home safe and sound from their week in Guatemala with pictures to share and stories to tell so don't miss next week's meeting.

On Monday, June 15, you are encouraged to bring a friend, neighbor or co-worker to hear some of our 24 travelers report their time spent building stoves - and two latrines - in this Central American country.

SGR's "Cookies for Candidates" event on Monday evening, June 1 was an opportunity for voters to meet one-on-one with incumbents Victor Iverson and Gil Almquist and challengers Bill Hoster and Troy Belliston in a tight race for a seat on the Washington County Commission.

There were only about 20 local residents in attendance but the candidates answered questions as if they were the most important voters in the community. Ballots are scheduled to be mailed on Tuesday, June 2.

Thanks to Bryan Thiriot for organizing the event; to Rotarians who helped with set up and to the Abbey Inn for their ongoing support of St. George Rotary.

Volunteers (age 16+) needed on Saturday, June 20 to fill one of 2-hour shifts from 10 a.m. - noon or 2 - 4:30 p.m. It's going to be all kinds of noisy, chaotic FUN!!!

Volunteer registration is open for the PGA TOUR's Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort. As of this writing - and assuming they all show up - we are pleased to report 75 of 94 volunteer positions needed are filled ... and we're still 4 months away from the event!!!

Please join your Rotary friends at the spectacular Hole 11 during the week of Sept. 30 - Oct. 4. It's likely to be SGR's biggest fundraiser of RY2025-26 with every volunteer receiving a swag package, valued at $2975!!!

FMI, see Linda Sappington. For help in registering, email to baylea.clayton@blackdesertevents.com.

Thanks to 18 members of SGR who have - so far - reached deep to make The Rotary Club of St. George, UT Named Fund a reality ... to provide money for SGR's "service above self" projects in perpetuity. For those still contemplating a donation, the opportunity still exists and here's how you can do it:

*  Write a check payable to "The Rotary Foundation."
*  District Foundation Chairman Egor Shulman will then fill out the necessary forms and submit your donation to TRF for club and individual member recognition. From there, SGR will receive a check each year in the amount of our Endowment-SHARE account's current annual spendable income.

FMI, see Dave Prisbrey.

Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne Wilhelm's two very ambitious goals for D5420 are (1) the establishment of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000 (or more) from which the district's 46 clubs can apply annually for a portion of the estimated interest of $330,000 for club and district grants; and, (2) increase district membership by a net 200 new members
by June 30, 2026

So, who do you know who is willing to write a sizeable check and/or should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?

Probably every club or district Public Image chair has a secret wish to one day get a write-up in the Rotary Magazine, but THIS CLUB actually got it done
in April 2026.

We're back to no new cases again this week so we are still at a worldwide case total of 7!

This year, please join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.

FMI, contact Foundation Chair Dave Prisbrey or Club Treasurer Collin Davis to make your wishes known!
