The "Is It FUNNN?" Committee will meet on Monday, April 13 at 10:45 a.m. at the offices of the WashCo School District at 121 W. Tabernacle.  Please be prompt because there is LOTS to discuss.

The 4th of SGR's four "away meetings" in as many weeks will be held TODAY (Monday, April 13) at noon in the board room of the WashCo School District located at 121 W. Tabernacle where we will enjoy lunch catered by the Pizza Factory and hear from the winners of this year's 4-Way Test Essay Contest ... thanks to the hard work of new SG Rotarian Lisa Shaw! Please join us for this fun program!

Imagine if your family had no running water requiring you to travel 15-20 miles several times a week to find this precious resource. That’s been the situation for those living in the Ojata Chapter of the Navajo Nation … until Rotary clubs from all over Utah Rotary District 5420 collaborated on a project to provide 15 trailers (at a cost of $1500 each) and thirty 275-gallon tanks ($325 each) to make life just a little bit easier by reducing the number of trips to the nearest “water hole” from several times a week to once-a-week (depending on family size).

Thanks to St. George Rotary, Bountiful, Washington City, Cedar City, St. George Sunrise, Monticello, Midvalley, Blanding, South Valley, Park City Noon, Orem, Puerto Penasco, MX Rotary clubs and many individual Rotarians … for their willingness to dig deep for this worthy cause!!! Delivery took place on Wednesday, April 8.

On Saturday, April 25 (aka National Arbor Day) members and friends of St. George Rotary will gather at Reed's cabin in Pine Valley (considered the epicenter of last year's Forsyth fire which consumed 17 homes and more than 15,000 acres of beautiful ponderosa pine trees).  Once again under construction, Reed's  cabin is located at 295 Cliff Rose Circle in Mt. View Estates (turn right at the Branding Iron, there bear left on every turn thereafter until you end up in a cul-de-sac where you'll see SGR signage)

Beginning at 9:00 a.m. we will have a short meet-and-greet, a quick informational program designed to help guarantee our "Little Joe's" will survive and thrive. And of course we'll need a few minutes to gather for a group photo (because everyone knows "it didn't happen if there is no picture").

This "service above self" project has been funded by a grant from TreeUTAH and your manpower will provide TreeUTAH's required 100% match at a rate of $29.95 per volunteer / per hour.

Please bring garden gloves for everyone in your group, dirty closed-toed shoes, a shovel with a "pointy" end, and sunscreen and bottled water.

Lunch provided by SGR will be served following the planting of our last tree!

Are you up-to-date on your immunizations?
Twenty-nine members enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a "talk and tour" at beautiful new St. George Fire Station #1 on Monday, April 6. SGR's 3rd of 4 "away meetings" in as many weeks, was hosted by Chief Rob Stoker.  See more about this gathering at St. George Rotary Club on Facebook.

Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne Wilhelm's two very ambitious goals for D5420 are (1) the establishment of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000 (or more) from which the district's 46 clubs can apply annually for a portion of the estimated interest of $330,000 for club and district grants; and, (2) increase district membership by a net 200 new members

So, who do you know who is willing and can afford to write a sizeable check and/or should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club?

A member of the Paul Harris Society pledges to contribute THIS AMOUNT annually to any of RI's Annual Fund-SHARE, Polio Plus, approved Global Grants or Disaster Response projects ... but how does it differ from being a Paul Harris Fellow?

Not one child has been paralyzed by wild poliovirus this week - so our worldwide count for 2026 remains at TWO - as we approach World Immunization Week (April 23-30).

This year, please resolve to join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.

FMI, contact Foundation Chair Dave Prisbrey or Club Treasurer Collin Davis to make your wishes known!
