It's time for SGR's November board meeting. Board members, please plan to meet together on Monday, November 4 at 10:45 a.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn.  Please be prompt because - as usual - there is lots to discuss.  If you have something for the agenda, please text to Linda.

SGR's 6th new member in RY2024-25 is Daniel Adams inducted on Monday, October 28. He is a transferring member from the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club where in 2-years he served on the Jockeys and Juleps committee; the Christmas parade committee; the Rollick and Roll event, Food Bank (One Gen food rescue) committee; Membership and Outreach committees and as a volunteer for his Tennessee club's Chili Fest.

In his spare time, this financial planner with Northwestern Mutual enjoys spending time with wife Tina and their 13-year-old son ... music (including drums, piano, guitar and singing); hiking, cheering on any college football team; skateboarding; and "service above self" projects of any and all kinds. He also speaks Portuguese ("spent a couple of years in Brazil") and "some" Spanish.

We are pleased to welcome Daniel and look forward to what he will bring to our club.

On Saturday, November 9, please join Rotarians and friends of Rotary at 9 a.m. (or a little before) to post the colors of our country on the graves of more than 2200 veterans interred at either St. George or Tonaquint cemeteries.  Bring your family and friends for this special "service above self" ... and there might be donuts! Questions, please contact Reed Noble or James Jackson.

DG Todd Boyer's membership goal for District 5420
is "2025 in 2025." Who do you know
who should be in Rotary?

Another two cases of wild polio with paralysis diagnosed in Pakistan bringing the worldwide total to 64 so far in 2024 (compared to 10 on this same date in 2023).

Please won't you join the Polio Plus Society by committing just $8.50 a month or $100 a year until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated?  Then the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match it 2x1. But it can't happen unless we all jump into the fight!!!
