"Mary Poppins" - the world's most famous nanny and currently starring in one of three Broadway shows at Tuacahn - told the two children in her care, "in every job that must be done there is an element of fun!"  SGR knows this concept as well because after the recitation of Rotary's 4-way test, our members add, "... and is it fun?"

There's lots being planned in the way of FUN this year so please don't miss our meeting on Monday, August 8 where you'll hear what the "Is It Fun?" Team has up their collective sleeves - including an exciting and ultimate FUN "service above self" project on each World Polio Day (October 24) until polio is finally and forever eradicated from the earth.

You won't want to miss this program!

Save grocery bags for an important "service above self" project in March
It may seem like a very long time to save grocery bags, but SGR will be doing a fun - but very important - "service above self" project in March and we need 300 Walmart-style bags for each sleeping mat we make for homeless / refugees in our community.

More information to come, but please start saving!  Or if you already have a few, bring them to an upcoming Monday meeting.
Rehab a bicycle for Halchita
James Jackson, Special Projects Chair, has received donations of 12-15 bicycles for children in Halchita and needs help rehabiitating several of them.

Rotarians, this might be a fun project to share with your family before the bicycles are transported to SE Utah to be placed under the Christmas tree of some boy or girl living on the northern border of the Navajo Nation.

Contact James to arrange to pick up or have a bicycle delivered ... and don't forget to track your volunteer hours and take a few pictures.

Or perhaps we can get together as families on a Saturday morning and work on them all together.

What's your preference?

For the cost of one movie ticket or a latte from Starbucks, you can prevent the wild polio virus in its tracks.  See a member of SGR's Foundation Committee for more information on how to join the PolioPlus Society for just $8.50 PER MONTH / $100 annually!!!
