On Monday, June 9, SGR - once again - will NOT be meeting at the Best Western Abbey Inn. Instead we will be gathering upstairs at Chubby's (next to Hurst Ace Hardware) at 188 N. Bluff Street. Collin will bring his checkbook and there will be a specific cash register for SGR, so come a little early to order.

DG Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm, who will be inducted as District 5420’s new governor in Salt Lake City on Saturday, June 14, did a stellar job training new club presidents and other board members on Saturday, June 7. High above the St. George community in the Sports Box on one side and the Utah Tech football field on the other, she and some of her district board members shared their enthusiasm for Rotary while training on such vital topics as TRFoundation, youth programs, recruiting and retaining members, and much, much more! Some in attendance were new to Rotary while others have marked 10, 20 or 30 anniversaries since their induction … but all came away a little more knowledgeable.

Thanks, Suzanne for your willingness to serve in this important position in District 5420!  You have our support!

Incoming Rotary President Mário César Martins de Camargo introduced the RY2025-26 international theme of “Unite for Good” during the RI Convention in Calgary emphasizing Rotary members are People of Action who don't wait for change but actively make it happen.

With this theme in mind, Rotary clubs are encouraged - in every effort - to collaborate and combine resources and skills to address global challenges and make a positive impact. “Unite for Good” illustrates the importance of human connection and how working together creates a better future by encouraging growth, service, and connection as a means to expand Rotary's impact as the “best-qualified team of volunteers on the planet".

Find "Unite for Good" resources on the Rotary Brand Center at https://on.rotary.org/42SvSh2 then share with the world how SGR unites for good.

Members of SGR have now been divided into committees – including Membership, Service, Fundraising, Foundation, Public Image, Special Projects, Youth and Fun/Events – and some are already busy getting things done. If you are not yet involved in “service above self” in your committee, please contact your chairman (or woman) for direction so you can “unite for good” … the good of the club, the good of the community and the good of the world!

DG Todd Boyer's RY2024-25 membership goal for District 5420 is "2025 in 2025."  Who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?

Rotary Question of the Week

What is the significance of the three colors used in the "Unite for Good" graphic design below?

Sadly, the world's 3-week streak of no new cases of wild polio with paralysis is over - with 2 new cases confirmed in Pakistan.  Also from that part of the world are reports of the killing of police officers guarding polio workers and the subsequent abduction of those workers.

Still, we know we're going in the right direction, although the polio virus remains out there with 2 cases in Afghanistan and now 10 in Pakistan.

If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annually until polio is eradicated finally and forever - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale for more information.
