While there will be NO LUNCH MEETING on Monday, May 25, SGR's upcoming Memorial Day weekend will be a busy one as we send 25 Rotarians and friends of Rotary to Guatemala on Saturday, May 23 (returning Sunday, May 31) to build simple cinderblock stoves and this year ... two latrines. Their baggage will include 206 wooden toys from the Happy Factory in Cedar City, 2 large boxes of books from Rotarian Lynn Beecher (Cedar City Club), 100 crocheted caps and 2 bottles of nail polish. Be sure to invite a neighbor, friend or co-worker to hear their after-action report on Monday, June 15.
Also on Saturday, May 23, those Rotarians and friends of Rotary not on their way to Guatemala, will be posting flags in honor of 2200 veterans interred at either St. George or Tonaquint cemeteries. Please plan to arrive no later than 9 a.m.
For more information, contact James Jackson, who will oversee the project at Tonaquint or Bryan Thiriot, who will manage the activity at St. George cemetery.
And yes, there will be donuts!
SGR's Monday, June 1 will be an extra busy Rotary day with a board meeting beginning at 10:45 a.m., a regular lunch meeting at noon ... and at 5:30 p.m. we will welcome Washington County's voting public for another "Cookies with Candidates."

Thanks to 18 members of SGR(another member contributed this week) who have - so far - reached deep to make The Rotary Club of St. George, UT Named Fund a reality ... to provide money for SGR's "service above self" projects in perpetuity. For those still contemplating a donation, the opportunity still exists andhere's how you can do it:
* Write a check payable to "The Rotary Foundation."
* District Foundation Chairman Egor Shulman will then fill out the necessary forms and submit your donation to TRF for club and individual member recognition. From there, SGR will receive a check each year in the amount of our Endowment-SHARE account's current annual spendable income.
