The St. George Children's Museum will be hosting a Lego Derby on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 86 S. Main (aka Dixie Academy) ... and they need SGR's help. Six volunteers - over the age of 18 - are needed for simple "service above self" in each 2-hour shift (including a few minutes of training).
A Lego derby is a race down a track between cars built from Lego bricks. Participants have a set amount of time to build and race for prizes awarded for speed and design.
Bring the kids, grandkids or neighbor kids, to participate in lots of fun activities while you volunteer. It's a "win/win" for everyone!
A signup sheet will be passed around at upcoming Monday meetings.

Sadly, our 3-week streak of no new cases of wild polio with paralysis is over - with 2 new cases confirmed this week in Pakistan. Also from that part of the world are reports of the killing of police officers guarding polio workers and the subsequent abduction of those workers.
Still, we know we're going in the right direction, but the polio virus remains out there with2 cases in Afghanistan and now 10 in Pakistan.
If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annually until polio is eradicated finally and forever - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale for more information.
