Ready, set ... ring!  The Salvation Army is now settled into their new location ... things are getting back to normal in Beaver County after their devastating fire season ... and Hurricane is drying out from last month's torrential rain, all which have put a big dent in Major Bob's resources going into the holiday season.

During your already busy holiday season, won't you please take time for some "service above self" bellringing for this important non-profit dedicated to helping those - and many others - impacted by all this front page news?

Sign up TODAY at SalvationArmyVolunteer.org to "ring and sing," "ring and dance" or just ring and say thank you to those who give.

Yep, Saturday, October 24 at the St. George Children’s Museum was another noisy, chaotic event for hundreds of little boys and ghouls celebrating Halloween.  The “Enchanted Night at the Museum” invited children of every age to don a costume for an evening of crafts, games, treats and lots of fun!  Two of our members, one prospective member and 2-3 little family members got in the spirit of the night … along with parents, grands, and others! Thanks to all willing to be part of the action!

End-of-Summer party at the Shaw's ... "Enchanted Night" at the St. George Children's Museum Halloween event  ... and another dictionary workday ... lots happening in St. George Rotary and LOTS more coming in November.  See the rest of these stories on SGR's Facebook page.

Did you know ... Johnny Weissmuller, a multi-life-saver as a teenage lifeguard; 5-time Olympic gold-medalist, who also held many world records; movie actor and the definitive "Tarzan" (who is credited as the creator of the Tarzan yell) was a polio survivor who contracted the disease at the age of 9. It was his doctor who recommended he take up swimming to help in his recovery.

We have just celebrated World Polio Day (Saturday, October 24) recognizing RI's effort to totally and completely eradicate polio from the earth. But, it is important to remember this dreaded disease is "no respecter of rank or position" in the world.

Please support this 38-year effort by donating $8.50 a month in support of RI's effort!  See Foundation Chair LaRene Cox or Club Treasurer Collin Davis to sign up.

Be sure to mail back your ballot or
cast your vote in person by Tuesday, November 3.

President Kolby's membership goal for RY2026-27 is a net 78 (we are currently at 72) which means we need to work hard to find more new members.

The only way we can reach our  goal of six new members this year, is by inviting someone - a friend, neighbor, or co-worker - to check us out around the lunch table! So be sure to keep 15 or more invitation cards in your pocket and hand them out with gusto!

It all starts with an invitation to lunch ... so, who do you know who should be in Rotary?

The very first “March of Dimes” radio appeal generated an avalanche of 2,680,000 dimes ($268,000) addressed directly to THIS POLIO SURVIVOR. Although he was seldom seen in a wheelchair (today owned by radio commentator Glenn Beck), he was completely paralyzed from the waist down!

According to last week's statistics ... Pakistan is at 7 new cases of wild-polio with paralysis, but
Afghanistan's count has reached 42 for a worldwide total of 49 in 2026 (compared to 38 last year in the same time period)!

Since we haven't yet crossed the finish line in this 38-year fight, will you please consider joining the PolioPlus Society at a nominal cost of just $8.50 per month - or a single annual donation of $100 - to save children around the world from this dreaded disease?

See Foundation Chair LaRene Cox or Collin Davis, our club treasurer for information on how to sign up because this fight isn't over 'til its over!
