In the earliest days of Rotary, clubs "rotated" to their members' places of business to get better acquainted with each other and with what members did in the workplace. Rotarians no longer "rotate" except when the Abbey Inn needs space for larger organizations. In this past year, we've "rotated" a lot and have found interesting new locations to gather, but - until further notice - we're back at the Best Western Abbey Inn!
SGR's "peace rock" - to be placed on the plaza of the new St. George City Hall - is not yet inscribed so there's still time to make changes. Give us your opinion! Should we go with a different quote?A different rock? Mayor Michelle Randall has approved this project for a rock of not more than 4' high and 3' wide. Once YOU and the city has approved the final design, placement is scheduled for sometime in late December or early January.
SGR's Service Committee chairman Reed Noble reports, "Dictionaries have been received. Our work project in preparation for distribution to all 3rd graders in 18 Washington County elementary schools will be on Monday, October 27. Join us at Jviation located at 35 S. 400 West, #200 across from Smith's in downtown St. George. Box lunches will be provided ... and speaking of boxes, you'll be able to pick up boxes of dictionaries on your way back to the rest of your day!"
Thanks to those SG Rotarians who have registeredto be one of the 8 volunteers managing the "gallery of spectators" at Hole 11 for the upcoming PGA TOUR. Golf lovers from the community joining this "service above self" project have helped us get close but we've fallen short of our goal for this event.

The eagerly-anticipated (at least by some members) "Bowlio for Polio" scheduled on Friday, October 24 (or was it Wednesday, October 20) has been canceled (or "cancelled" depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on) for now.
Due to everything going on in town and in our club, the decision was made to find a less busy date for this FUN(d) event!
So guess what it really means is it hasn't been cancelled ... it has been postponed!!! Watch for more information coming your way someday soon!
Utah Rotary's District Governor Suzanne Wilhelm's goal for D5420 is a net increase of 200 new members by June 30, 2026 (that's just 4-ish in each of Utah's 45 clubs). So, who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?
