On Monday, November 13 we will be meeting at 11:30 a.m. at either St. George or Tonaquint cemeteries to gather flags and get them ready for storage until Memorial Day. Then we will move to the pavilion in the SW corner of Vernon Worthen Park where we will enjoy lunch, socializing and getting better acquainted with 1-2 of our newest members. See you there!
Then there's this on Saturday, November 18 in the parking lot at Tuacahn Center for the Arts. Thanks to our sponsors: O'Reilly Auto Parts, TDS; T-Mobile; Stephen Wade Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram;Tuacahn Center for the Arts and Red Rock Media.
There will be food trucks, shopping at Tuacahn's Saturday market, District 5420's iron lung and beautiful scenery in addition to the cars.
Volunteers are needed to help with checking in the cars, directing traffic and cleaning up after the car show. Please sign up to help.
Mark your calendar and join us for our annual Christmas party on Monday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn. More info coming in a newsletter near you!
Our ClubRunner website platform has a unique feature. It tracks our induction date then calculates how many years we have been members.
Recently, information about three of our members popped up. One we all know. Nick Lang has been a member for 41 years, but the other two we don't know, though one has been a member for 11 years ... the other for 9! Both of these long term members contribute to SGR by making sure their dues are paid (which we definitely appreciate)... but its likely many of us have never met either of them. And, since RI no longer considers attendance a criteria for being a "good" Rotarian the question may be "then why show up?"
The answer is simple ... WE NEED YOU! We need your ideas, skills, contacts, life experiences and your "service above self!" We need you to socialize with us, laugh and cry with us, serve on a committee with us and get your hands dirty in service to our community and the world.
We all know life puts a lot of demands on our time so we don't need to come for every meeting, every social or every service project ... but please consider joining us just every once in awhile. We're certain you will find a friend or two among our membership ... and your activity and fellowship will change St. George Rotary Club for the better.
You will find us (most) Mondays at the Best Western Abbey Inn at noon! We're a really fun Rotary club and we'd love to get to know ALL our members better!
The total cases of wild polio since NYD 2023 - anywhere in the world - is now at 10(6 in Afghanistan and 4in Pakistan). This new case proves this terrible disease has not yet been eradicated and is still very much a threat to the children of the world.
PLEASE help us achieve RI's goal of ZEROby joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, 'cause this fight isn't over til its over!
