It's the first Monday of the month which means its time for SGR's March board meeting(s). On Monday, March 2, we will gather at the Abbey Inn at 10:45 a.m. Board members, please make every effort to be punctual because, as always, there is LOTS to discuss ... but if you have something for the agenda, please let our club secretary know so it can be included.
KC Zeeman, SGR's 8th new member in RY2025-26 was inducted on Monday, February 23 (coincidentally RI's 121st anniversary) bringing our total membership to 73 ... with at least three more ready to be inducted.
KC is an enthusiastic volunteer - particularly enjoying outdoor projects around the community - and has already signed up for "service above self" on one or two SGR committees. Please welcome KC as the newest member of our club!
The 7-year-old Scott quintuplets live around the corner and at least 2-3 of them regularly stop by Rotarian Linda Sappington's house for a cookie or leftover Halloween candy. Today, when they knocked on the door, these five adorable kids (from left: Lily [youngest and tallest]; friend Zoey from the neighborhood; Daisy [2nd oldest]; Lincoln [smallest]; Logan [noisiest]; and Violet [oldest by about 5 seconds] all born within 5 minutes of each other) also got a sweet, delicious California orange ... the last of 208 cases the sale of which raised about $6800 (give or take) for "service above self" projects in the community and the world!
Thanks again to all who purchased, sold or delivered. We couldn't have done it without you!!!
FYI: the incidence of a pregnancy naturally resulting in quintuplets is roughly 1 in 55,000,000 births which may give Logan the answer to his question, "why do people want to take our picture everyday? We're just kids!!!" Why indeed, Logan?

If you've recently changed your phone number, your name or your address (either home or email) or you're no longer receiving mail from RI, D5420 or SGR ... our club secretary needs to know. Please pass along all these changes as soon as they happen to Linda Sappington at stgeorgerotary@yahoo.com or text to 435-669-8020 ... then watch for an updated member roster in your e-mailbox!
Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne goal for D5420 is a net increase of 200 new members by June 30, 2026.
So, who do you know who should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club
The amount of this very first donation to The Rotary Foundation dates back to 1917. That year, Rotary President Arch Klumph had an idea for an endowment fund to support education, peace and humanitarian projects around the world ... and which would eventually become the most influential philanthropic effort in global civil society.
Although three more children were diagnosed with wild polio with paralysis in the last few days 2025, we are still holding steady in the New Year with NO children diagnosed in 2026 to date.
This year, please resolve to join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.
