Yes, we will be meeting back in our "home" at the Best Western Abbey Inn on Monday, June 23, but don't get too comfortable, because we will be "away" again on June 30 and July 7.
On Monday, June 30, in lieu of our regular lunch meeting, we will gather for our annual Officer Induction Potluck Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Utah Tech Alumni House (684 E. 500 South).
The evening will be filled with friends, food and fun as we celebrate President Dave's successful year, honoring (or roasting) some of our members and passing the baton to LaRene Cox who will take SGR to the next level in RY2025-26.
The club will provide all-you-can-eat pulled pork – and if your name is A-L, you are asked to bring a salad or a favorite side dish (pork and beans, potato or macaroni salad or "whatever"). If your surname begins with M-S, please bring a dessert to share. If you are T-Z, please provide anything else you would like to share OR a few 2-liter bottles of your favorite soda or other drink to pass around.
Questions? Contact a member of the Events Committee (aka “If It FUNNN?”) for answers.
In early June of SGR's 18th year in Guatemala, members and friends of RI's Club #1079 built a dozen simple cinderblock stoves and provided funding for another 100+ which gave local Maya masons a few months of paid employment. Rotarians and friends also took time to enjoy some R&R together all which made for a fun and relaxing vacation while continuing to change lives in this Central American country.

DG Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm's goal for D5420 is to see 200 new members inducted by June 30, 2026. Won't you please help? Who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?
Rotary Question of the Week
This occasionally happens at the club or district level - but almost never in Evanston, IL - yet last week we got a new one just "minutes" before the beginning of RY2025-26!
As thousands of Rotarians are enjoying the RI Convention in Calgary, we celebrate another week with no new cases of wild polio with paralysis anywhere in the world!
We know we're going in the right direction, but we also know the polio virus remains out there with 2 cases in Afghanistan and 10 in Pakistan since January 1, 2025.
If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annuallyuntil polio is eradicated finally and forever - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale for more information.
