BEFORE our regular lunch meeting on Monday, November 3, SGR's board members will gather at 10:45 a.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn for our monthly board meeting(s) ... yes, it's that time again!  Please be reminded, as always there is LOTS to discuss, so please be on time!

Then, AFTER Monday's meeting (at roughly 1:15 p.m.) the FUNNN Committee will gather for a short meeting to finalize some of the details of SGR's Christmas party.  FUNNN Committee members, please mark your calendar ... and plan to attend!

Twenty-four Rotarians showed up at Reed's office on Monday, October 27 to prepare 1247 paperback dictionaries to be delivered to 3rd graders in 15 local elementary schools. President LaRene did her best to control the pandemonium, but you know how it is when Rotarians get together!  We enjoyed lunch from Great Harvest Bread Company ... talking about the Bank of Utah Championship golf tournament at Black Desert and ... BYU's 8th consecutive win, this time over Iowa State .... then filled in the "quiet" moments with an assortment of noisy chit-chat.  We finished in record time, and, as always, a FUNNN time was had by all!

Now let's get them delivered to the kids!

On Saturday, November 8, members and friends of St. George Rotary will gather at one of two local cemeteries - St. George or Tonaquint - at or a little before 9 a.m. where they will place the colors of our country on the final resting places of more than 2200 veterans.

If everyone arrives on time, this "service above self" will take only about an hour allowing you to get on with weekend plans and knowing you've helped make a difference for veterans' families.

We will gather the flags again on Saturday, November 15 at 9 a.m.  For more information, contact Reed.

The Salvation Army in Washington County, UT launches its 2025 Red Kettle Campaign beginning on Saturday, November 15 (and ending on December 23)! This important funding for the southern Utah Salvation Army provides - among other services - proper shelter and warm meals for families forced to choose between paying rent or putting food on the table.

Rotarians are needed to help during this magical time of year by volunteering in support of this year's Red Kettle Campaign - a century long tradition of generosity - by registering at www.RegisterToRing.com.

Simply pick your day (or two) at a location of your choice using St. George Rotary's ID code then jump into a competition to see which Rotarian's red kettle has the most in the way of contributions.

Questions?  Contact SG Rotarian Bob Schmig for answers.

The news for this week is neither surprising nor frightening, but certainly sobering, as we receive word of another Pakistani child who has been diagnosed with WPI bringing our worldwide total in 2025 to 39 ... 9 in Afghanistan and 30 in Pakistan.

We simply can't stop immunizing and contributing to the fight against the wild polio virus.

Won't you please consider joining the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.
