We now have enough grocery bags to weave at least three sleeping mats for homeless folks in our community. 

 

This project will definitely have a “bigger, better, bolder” impact on those in need as these mats – made of these recycled materials - said to raise the ground temperature by 40 degrees.  We will cut the bags into strips during our regular Monday meeting on November 14 at the Abbey Inn.

 

PLEASE BRING SHARP SCISSORS FOR THIS PROJECT.  We will need all-hands-on-deck!!!

Halchita children have written their letters to Santa Claus.  What they hope the Jolly Old Elf will put under the tree are toys which don’t need batteries, Legos, Playdoh, bicycle pumps (even the gently loved pump you no longer use but still have in your garage), any kind of ball … or ask your kids / grands what they recommend for children their own age.

 

Unwrapped gifts for boys or girls must be delivered to Rotarian James Jackson no later than Monday, December 12 for delivery to Halchita on Friday, December 16.
