The "Is It FUNNN?" Committee (aka Social Events) will meet at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, December 8
at the Abbey Inn. Come prepared to share your best creative ideas for upcoming activities.
It's been a difficult year for the Salvation Army due in part to the unprecedented government shutdown which sent individuals and families scrambling to put food on their table and gas in the tank. This means Rotarians are desperately needed for two hours as bell-ringers any day (except Sunday) through Christmas Eve.
Here is how we have supported the Salvation Army, so far this year and in total from years past:
* $342.12 so far in this holiday season
* $1068.15 in 2024
* $883.94 in 2023
* $1954.47 in 2022
You can ring at any of your choice of a dozen locations any time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Signup on the clipboard we'll pass around for this holiday "service above self" project or online at www.registertoring.com.
Merry Christmas to SGR's October PGA volunteers: Santa invites you to the first of two designated "volunteer play days" on Tuesday, January 13 at the discounted price of $150 (plus charges for caddy and cart) for your “service above self” managing the gallery for the PGA TOUR.
Play begins with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. You will be playing in assigned groups with preset hole assignments. You will be required to check in for your tee time at least one hour before the shotgun.
Register for this date HERE. You have until New Years Day2026 to RSVP at this link or until the RSVP list is filled -- whichever comes first. Please note there are only (120) spots available due to the shotgun format.
If, at first, you didn't think you would be able to attend, but your plans have changed ... or if you just haven't gotten around to sending a text, please know its not too late to join us for this year's Christmas party. We have a delicious menu planned, exciting entertainment, an ugly sweater contest and a gift exchange(less than $20 per person) for your enjoyment.
If you are planning to join us at 6 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn on Monday, December 15, please let Linda know.
There will be NO REGULAR LUNCH MEETING on Monday so you can ring the bell for the Salvation Army and/or be ready for the festivities, including food, friends and fun in the evening!
Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne goal for D5420 is for a net increase of 200 new members by June 30, 2026.
So, who do you know who should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club?
Rotary Question of the Week
December is RI’s "Disease Prevention and Treatment Month" when Rotarians are encouraged to support service projects relating to health and disease control,including polio eradication, and improving access to healthcare.
Which of SGR’s current projects address this important RI area of focus?
It has now been six weeks since a case of WPI with paralysis was reported in either of the world's two endemic countries. This "good news" means we're still at a worldwide total in 2025 of 39 cases ... 9 in Afghanistan and 30 in Pakistan.
Won't you please consider joining the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.
