On Monday, June 30, in lieu of our regular lunch meeting, we will gather for our annual Officer Induction Potluck Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Utah Tech Alumni House (684 E. 500 South).
The evening will be filled with friends, food and fun as we celebrate President Dave's successful year, honor (or perhaps roast) some of our members and pass the baton to LaRene Cox who will take SGR to the next level in RY2025-26.
The club will provide all-you-can-eat pulled pork β and if your name is A-L, you are asked to bring a salad or a favorite side dish (pork and beans, potato or macaroni salad or "whatever"). If your surname begins with M-S, please bring a dessert to share. If you are T-Z, please provide anything else you would like to share OR a few 2-liter bottles of your favorite soda or other drink to pass around.
Questions? Contact a member of the Events Committee (aka βIs It FUNNN?β) for answers.
Board members, please plan to attend our first board meeting of RY2025-26 (or maybe it's the last one of RY2024-25) on Monday, June 30 beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Dave's office (SoUT Title at 20 N. Main, Ste. 300). As always there will be lunch ... and LOTS to discuss so please be prompt!
Monday, June 23, SGR heard from 5 of 6 impressive young movers and shakers sponsored by SGR and recently returned from Rotary Youth Leadership Awards held June 9-12 at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant. These amazing young men and women - including Boston Thiriot and Ellie Anderson who attended in 2024 and returned this year as alumni - and first timers Michael (MJ) Anderson, Jorianne Thiriot, Rebekah Whitehead and Lucy Ruiz all reported RYLA was a life-changing experience with the opportunity to make new friends, hear from outstanding speakers, and participate in activities and classes which gave them new skills. Thanks to SGR Youth Chair Ryan Davis, Bryan Thiriot and SGR for their support!
DG Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm's goal for D5420 is to see 200 new members inducted by June 30, 2026. Won't you please help? Who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?
The RI Convention in Calgary is now history, but wild polio with paralysis still exists even as we announce another new case in Pakistan.
We know we're going in the right direction, but there have still been 2 cases in Afghanistan and 12 in Pakistan since January 1, 2025.
If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annuallyuntil polio is eradicated finally and forever - make this your New Rotary Year resolution! See Foundation Chairs Dave, Bryan or Dale for more information.
