IT'S TONIGHT ... NO LUNCH MEETING today, but in the evening of Monday, June 29, SGR will celebrate the many successes and fun we've had under the leadership of President LaRene Cox in RY2025-26 and induct our club officers, including passing the gavel to incoming President Kolby Traveller. Please join us at the St. George Social Hall on the corner of Main Street and 200 North (aka 212 N. Main across from the St. George Post Office) beginning at 6 p.m.
SGR will provide the main course and members are asked to bring a favorite potluck side dish (i.e., salad, dessert, drinks or "other" such as beans, bread, etc.)

The PGA TOUR at Black Desert Resort asked SGR to provide 30 volunteers each willing to sign up for 3 shifts at Hole 11 over five days from Wednesday, September 30 through Sunday, October 4 ... and SGR has delivered with all shifts currently filled!!!
We're 90 days out, so of course, there is always the possibility of last minute fall out (due to illness, injury, surprise guests or lost car keys) so we hope you will sign up as a substitute ... just in case!
Next we'll be moving on to the HWSG's Welcome Bags Assembly project, volleyball refreshments and housing BYU students in town for The Games ... as well as the St. George Marathon aid station ... all pretty much during the first two weeks of October.

The RI float committee for the Pasadena Rose Parade on January 1, 2027 has announced they are accepting designs for RI's entry which will - this year - have an environmental theme in keeping with RI's 7th area of focus.
Decorating the float, beginning a few days after Christmas, will require a good sized group of Rotary volunteers from all over the country. So SGR ... what do you say about traveling from SoUT to SoCal for a couple of days of "up close and personal" service on what will soon light up the world's TV screen. Don't wait long to decide because motels fill up quickly.
Utah Rotary's Suzanne Wilhelm began her year as District Governor with two very ambitious goals for D5420: (1) the creation of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000; and (2) increase Utah Rotary's net membership to 200 members by June 30, 2026.
Calling for support and great ideas from amazing and dedicated Rotarians in club and District roles, the Governor reports more than $6,000,000 of $10,000,000 has been contributed and efforts to get to the goal will continue in RY2026-27.
And while membership did not grow by a net 200 as she had hoped, District 5420 has successfullyretained 1638 members in 45 Rotary clubs (with another currently forming) and 8 Rotaract clubs … an amazing accomplishment in itself!!!
So, the questions remain … who do you know who might be willing to write a sizeable check or might enjoy being a member of SGR?

This longtime member of Club 24 (aka Salt Lake Rotary) was given "time off" from his fulltime (until death) calling as an ordained Apostle in the LDS Church to serve in RY1966-67 as the first - and to date - only President of Rotary International from Utah!
RY2025-26 ends with no new cases of wild polio-caused paralysis bringing this year's worldwide case total to 9.
Unfortunately, while this is good news, we have not yet crossed the finish line in this battle.
