The 4th of SGR's four "away meetings" was last week so today we are back at the Abbey Inn beginning at 11:49 a.m. for socializing, lunch and an important program. Questions?

REGISTRATION for the PGA Tour at Black Desert - sponsored again by Bank of Utah - opens TODAY!!!  Join us at the spectacular Hole 11 during the week of Sept. 30 - Oct. 4.  It's a whole lot of fun but more important, it is possible - with your participation - this might be SGR's biggest fundraiser in RY2025-26!

Next Saturday, April 25 (in honor of Earth Day [Apr. 22], National Arbor Day and the celebration of America 250 on July 4) members and friends of St. George Rotary will gather at Reed's cabin in Pine Valley (considered the epicenter of last year's Forsyth fire which consumed 17 homes and more than 15,000 acres of beautiful ponderosa pine trees).  Reed's  cabin is located at 295 Cliff Rose Circle in Mt. View Estates (turn right at the Branding Iron, then bear left on every turn thereafter until you end up in a cul-de-sac where you'll see SGR signage). 

 

At 9:00 a.m. we will have a short meet-and-greet, a quick informational program designed to guarantee our "Little Joe's" survive and thrive. And of course we'll need a few minutes to gather for a photo because we all know "it didn't happen if there's no picture".

 

This "service above self" project is funded by a grant from TreeUTAH and your manpower will provide TreeUTAH's required 100% match at a rate of $29.95 per volunteer / per hour.

 

Please bring garden gloves, dirty closed-toed shoes, a shovel with a "pointy" end, sunscreen and bottled water. SGR will provide lunch following the planting of our last tree ... and you'll be on your way home by noon-ish!

SGR's 27th annual 4-Way Test Essay Contest was held in the Washington County School District's beautiful board room ... and this year 6 students won the competition, two from each of three schools, including Dixie and Desert Hills Intermediate and for the first time ever George Washington Academy.  Lisa Shaw, a first time chair who took this event to the next level, noted to the winners, "not only were your essays good ... but they beat out other good essays."
