Oranges are here!
Thanks for your support of our 2nd orange sales project in 2022. So far SGR has sold 71 cases and our two scout troops have sold another 30, bringing us to a total of 101 ... or about $1500 more in our bank account for more "service above self."

These delicious valencias will be delivered to Sam McArthur's front yard at 127 S. 500 East in downtown St. George on the morning of Monday, May 16.

Please mark your calendar and be prepared to pick up this fruit as soon as possible on Monday morning, May 16, because its going to hit 100 degrees by early afternoon and we don't have any way to keep the oranges cool.

Thanks for your support! We'll see you on Monday morning, May 16.
SGR Rotarian Scouters Honored

Congratulations to Greg Zemp, Chris Parker and Rulon Olsen, a trio of St. George Rotarians recently recognized with the prestigious Cliff Dochterman Award for Distinguished and Dedicated Service in Scouting from the International Federation of Scouting Rotarians.  This award was presented during the May 12-14 Rotary 5420 District Conference for “devoted and visionary service to Scouting in Washington County,” especially since January 1, 2020.

The Cliff Dochterman Award – named for Rotary International’s 1992-93 president - is an honor recognizing an individual Rotarian or Rotaractor who acts as a role model and renders distinguished and dedicated service to Scouting through active service, leadership or other exemplary contributions to the Scout Association of his or her home country.

5th Monday "service above self" project
More than 2000 men and women,  who have honorably served our nation in times of peace and conflict, are interred at either St. George or Tonaquint cemeteries.

For our 5th Monday service project in May, Rotarian Reed Noble has asked us to share a little of our time to remember - and honor - our veterans by posting the colors of our nation on each grave for our 6th annual Memorial Day flag project.

We will post flags on Saturday morning, May 28 beginning at 8 am ... and gather them back up for storage on Tuesday, May 31 at 5 pm.

This is our club's project, so we need our members to make it happen. We will be joined by members of the two scout troops we sponsor.  Still we need "all-hands-on-deck" so we can finish quickly and let all volunteers get on with Memorial Day family activities.

Please make time! QUESTIONS?  Call or text Reed at 668-6711.
Colombian Friendship Exchange with SGR
The Colombian Friendship Exchange - including about a dozen Rotarians and their interpreters - will be in St. George on Monday, June 13 and SGR has been asked to show them around / entertain them. They will be attending our club meeting that day ... and are tentatively planning to go to Tuacahn in the evening (the show starts at 9 pm so there's time in the afternoon to be their tour guides) but not enough time to drive up to Zion National Park.

They will be entertained by Dixie Sunrise Rotary Club on Tuesday when they will visit Snow Canyon and enjoy an evening social.

This will be a fun, friendshipping opportunity.  Ideas, suggestions and volunteers are needed ... and perhaps an invitation to have this gathering in someone's beautiful home or spectacular backyard.  Anyone?
