Its time again for SGR's monthly board meeting(s) to be held on Monday, September 14 at 10:45 a.m. at the Abbey Inn. Board members, if you have agenda items, please text them to Linda. And please review the August minutes and come prepared to approve!

SGR's 4th annual "Rev'd Up for Rotary" car show was another big success! On Saturday, September 12, 2026 we gathered in the Red Cliffs parking lot to "meet and greet," talk about Rotary and polio while raising funds for Dixie Tech student scholarships.

Thanks to all who have signed up - and showed up - to help with this fun and memorable event!

Rotarians, partners and any young men or women in your home, please join SGR and BrightenLives Home Health and Hospice located at 2333 E. Dinousaur Crossing Drive for a special "service above self" project on Thursday, September 17 at 7 p.m. The evening will begin with a brief training before we start the simple work of tying 15-20 blankets on behalf of local veterans.

And when we're done, for those who wish to, we'll move the party to nearby Handel's Ice Cream located at 1543 So. River Road.

Questions?  See Kolby for answers!

Barbara and Ken Sizemore enjoyed the evening of Monday, September 7 at St. George Musical Theater's production of "Can You Hear the Music? An Osmond Family Musical Tribute" where they rubbed shoulders with another of the famous Osmond Brothers singing group (Merrill was our speaker on Monday, August 24) who put Utah on the world's entertainment map! Together for the evening were Donny Osmond, the Sizemore's, Diane and Brad Adams (mom and dad to our very own Daniel) who drove down from Highland to sit in the winners circle, as the result of Merrill's assurance Donny would love to share the spotlight with them.

President Kolby's membership goal for RY2026-27 is a net 75 (we are currently at 72) which means we need to work hard to find more new members.

How is this to be done? The only way we can reach our  goal of one new member a month, is by inviting someone - a friend, neighbor, or co-worker - to check us out around the lunch table!

To accomplish our goal, our in-house graphic designer David Martinez has created an invitation and printed 1000 for our use (note our new club email address) ... so we want EVERY member of SGR to take at least 15 to hand out over the next twelve months (easy, peasy ... that's just 1-ish per month).

It all starts with an invitation ... so, who do you know who should be in Rotary?

The RI Service Project Center reported more than 54,000 of THESE were posted in RY2025-26.  You can browse them for new ideas at spc.rotary.org.

Pakistan is still holding steady at 3 cases of wild-polio with paralysis, but Afghanistan added 3 more cases to their total last week for a worldwide total of 26 cases in 2026!

Since we haven't yet crossed the finish line in this 36 year fight, will you please consider joining the PolioPlus Society at a nominal cost of just $8.50 per month - or a single annual donation of $100 - to save children around the world from this dreaded disease?

See Foundation Chair LaRene Cox or Collin Davis, our club treaturer for information on how to sign up because this fight isn't over 'til its over!
