At the first board meeting of the New Rotary Year, the following club and foundation business (in no particular order) was approved:

*  SGR's Foundation Committee will change bylaws to reflect the addition of a new leadership position. The Club's Immediate Past President will serve as Foundation Chair while the previous chairman will serve a 2nd year as Foundation Vice Chair.
*  Representatives from all five clubs in Washington County (as well as the Cedar City club) will be invited to meet together annually in the first month of each new year to reconnect and discuss such topics as "what we're doing, what we need to be doing and what we need help with!"
*  A few ideas have already been suggested for SGR's local signature project but the board would still like to hear ideas from club members. A survey is being prepared and will soon be sent to all members.
*  It has been four years since there has been an increase to SGR's membership dues. A slight cost-of-living increase is being discussed and will likely occur in the new year.
*  Camping World will serve as the primary sponsor for SGR's 10th annual "Swing for Literacy" golf tournament fundraiser, but a committee is needed to solicit more sponsors.

At our club leader installation social in Pine Valley on Monday, July 1, SGR's 94th President Dave Prisbrey swore to "work hard, serve, direct, and promote St. George Rotary to the best of your ability (and then some) while your knowledge of Rotary and the good it does – and can do under your leadership – will grow and you will take pride in knowing you and your club members are making a difference in the community and the world."  Luckily he said YES!

The Cedar City Rotary Club, our biggest and best partner in the Guatemala Stoves project, needs SGR's help parking as many as 300+ vintage vehicles for their upcoming - and absolutely amazing - Car Show on Saturday, July 13.  The July Jamboree will take place on Main Street.

Volunteers are needed from 12:30 to 2-ish.  The cars are fabulous and from all over the western U. S. ... and the "service above self" is easy.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP OUR GENEROUS ROTARY NEIGHBORS TO THE NORTH ... bring your +1 and the kids and enjoy the show at your leisure and you can be certain it's a whole lot cooler in Cedar City.

Start planning for the Party in Pasadena! SGR is invited to help make this proposed design for RI's entry in the 136th Pasadena Rose Parade on January 1, 2025 come to life. It is the ultimate Rotary "service above self" project, a great social event and a unique opportunity to see dozens of this year's amazing Rose Parade floats before the rest of the world sees them.

BRACE YOURSELF ... there have been 3 NEW CASES of wild polio with paralysis this week bringing the worldwide total to 14, including 1 death ... 6 in Afghanistan and 8 in Pakistan.  This is more than all the cases in 2023 and we're only halfway through the year!

Currently, just 53.3% of 1.4 million Rotarians and Rotaractors give to PolioPlus.
Imagine how much faster we could cross the polio eradication finish line if 73.3% ... or 93.3% joined the Polio Plus Society at a cost of just $8.50 a month or gave an annual donation of $100 until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated.
