February 23, 2025 marks 120 years since Paul Harris and a few of his closest friends kicked off a worldwide movement of "service above self" which, from its humble beginnings, has become Rotary International with more than 1.4 million members in 220 countries. Join us friends, neighbors, co-workers ... even family members and help Rotary International make a difference in the community, the nation and the world ... for another 120 years!

Brigham Road (turn left off Brigham Road on the street adjacent to Bloomington Hills Elementary School).

On Monday, February 3, we introduced Ryan Heck,
Director of Elev8 Clubhouse, a non-profit organization under the administrative umbrella of SW Behavioral Health. If he looked familiar, its because he attended with Katie Neumeier-Hill when she was inducted as a member of SGR. Turns out, he will be the Rotarian on his organization's corporate membership because he is excited about ways in which SGR and the Clubhouse can work together. But we're excited, too because he brings our net total of new members to 14 since July 1, 2024.

Please welcome Ryan - or any other Clubhouse member - whenever they visit our club.  They are committed to attending at least twice a month and want to be involved in any and all service projects.

See more on SGR's Facebook page and watch for more from - and about - our 14 new members.  It is an exciting time for our 94-year-old Rotary club!

With our recent historic induction of seven new members our goal is to sign up every member of SGR to one or more committees. Those committees include Membership, Club Administration, Youth, Service, Special Projects, "Is It FUNNN?," Public Image, Foundation and Fundraising.

None of these involve an inordinate amount of time - though depending on the time of year or the project there may be a burst of time needed.

To keep SGR moving along at a brisk pace, everyone's skills and willingness to serve are needed.

Rotary Question of the Week:

Percentage of SG Rotarians
with a "My Rotary" account?

It looks like the number of cases of wild polio w/paralysis will top out at 99 in 2024, a terrible number representing pain and suffering for these children, most of them in Parkistan.

Since January, 1 case has been diagnosed.

If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable price of $8.50 a month or $100 annually - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale.
