The 3rd of SGR's four "away meetings" in as many weeks will be held TODAY (Monday, April 6) at noon at St. George Fire Station #1, located at 86 S. Flood Street (aka 400 East) where we will enjoy lunch and a "talk and tour" hosted by Chief Robert Stoker.
Bring a neighbor, friend or co-worker for this fun gathering!
The check is in the mail! SGR has been notified our grant application to the TreeUTAH non-profit organization has been approved for the purchase of saplings to replace some of the many thousands of ponderosa pines lost in last year's Pine Valley fire.
What we need now is manpower to provide TreeUTAH's required 100% match at a rate of $29.95 per volunteer / per hour.
After our 250 trees are planted, SGR will provide lunch for all volunteers. Join us in Pine Valley on Saturday, April 25 (Natl. Arbor Day) beginning at 10 a.m. where we will stage on Bryan Thiriot's Pine Valley propertylocated at 1195 E. Main Street (there will be signage).

Use the QR code to register your son, daughter, grand kid, nieces/nephews or age-appropriate neighbors. This is an opportunity "too good to miss" for these future leaders! Our 2nd of four "away meetings" in as many weeks was held at the Utah Food Bank where we enjoyed lunch and a "service above self" project. During horseplay, Allen Young announced he was willing to match up to $500 as a donation to the Food Bank and many of our members met his challenge. And, several of our members brought canned food to share with those in need. Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped out!
Huurricane Valley Rotary Club drew a huge crowd at $5 per person on Saturday, April 4 ... even while the St. George Art Festival, the St. George Highland Games and the LDS General Conference was competing for attention. Looking forward ... SGR's own 2026 carshow is scheduled on Saturday, September 19 at Red Cliffs Mall. Spread the word!!!

PS: In case you're curious the sign says, "yes, it's real" ... "no, you can't sit in it!"
Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne Wilhelm's two very ambitious goals for D5420 are (1) the establishment of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000 (or more) from which the district's 46 clubs can apply annually for a portion of the estimated interest of $330,000 for club and district grants; and, (2) increase district membership by a net 200 new members
by June 30, 2026
So, who do you know who is willing and can afford to write a sizeable check and/or should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club?
DG Suzanne Wilhelm has a goal to raise $10,000,000 for THIS which will transform contributions from members and businesses into a perpetual funding source of more than $330,000 (a whole lot more than our current district allotment of $75,000) annually for club or international projects in D5420 and its 46 clubs!
One more Afghani child was paralyzed by wild poliovirus this week - bringing our worldwide count for 2026 to TWO - as we approach World Immunization Week (April 23-30).
This year, please resolve to join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.
