The 2nd of SGR's four "away meetings" in as many weeks will be held on Monday, March 30 at the Utah Food Bank located at 4416 S. River Road where we will enjoy lunch and a "service above self" project.

If you missed last week's "Feed Utah" food drive, please bring canned food, donate if you are able and / or invite a friend, neighbor or co-worker to join us to learn more about Rotary.

Mike Miller, inducted on Monday, March 23, is SGR's newest member (sponsored by Randy Gordon).  A retired banker, Mike is now happily enjoying time for golf on any of Washington County's 14 courses ... and sports cars. He was a member of St. George Sunrise Rotary for two years before he and his wife Jan moved to Eagle, ID where he was a member of the Eagle Rotary Club for another two years. Happy to be back in southern Utah, Mike looks forward to finding his place as a member of St. George Rotary (chair of the golf tournament fundraiser, perhaps?) and getting to know everyone!

The 1st of four "away meetings" in as many weeks, was a "talk and tour" event at Washington County's  Pioneer Courthouse on St. George Blvd, now occupied by the ambitious and timely United We Pledge non-profit organization. There were 34 in attendance, a new member inducted and two commitments from prospectives to join SGR.

Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne Wilhelm's two very ambitious goals for D5420 are (1) the establishment of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000 (or more) from which the district's 46 clubs can apply annually for a portion of the estimated interest of $330,000 for club and district grants; and, (2) increase district membership by a net 200 new members

So, who do you know who is willing and can afford to write a sizeable check and/or should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club?

This annual gathering of Rotarians celebrates Rotary's accomplishments, provides updates, shares inspiring stories, increases learning about Rotary ... and is held in a different city each year, usually in June (which city this year?)

No children paralyzed by wild poliovirus (type 1) this week ... and no environmental samples reported as we approach World Immunization Week.

This year, please resolve to join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.

FMI, contact Foundation Chair Dave Prisbrey or Club Treasurer Collin Davis to make your wishes known!
