Yes, we're moving again! On Monday, June 16, SGR will again NOT be meeting at the Best Western Abbey Inn. Instead we will be gathering in the Pasta Factory's meeting room (immediately west of the restaurant) for a buffet lunch and a report on this year's Guatemala stoves project. Come one, come all!
You may have already heard, but if not, be advised ... we're having a party! On Monday, June 30 there will be NO LUNCH MEETING, but at 6 p.m. St. George Rotary members and spouses/partners will gather at the Utah Tech Alumni House located at 684 E. 500 South for our annual Officer Induction event!
The club will provide all-you-can-eat pulled pork - cooked to perfection by our very own Chef Dave Prisbrey - as the centerpiece for a potluck dinner! If your name is A-L, please plan to bring a salad or a favorite side dish (pork and beans, potato or macaroni salad or "whatever"). If you are M-S, please bring a dessert to share. If you are T-Z, we ask you to provide a few 2-liter bottles of your favorite soda or other drink to pass around.
The evening will include food, friends and LOTS of laughter as we celebrate Dave Prisbrey's successful year as RY2024-25 Club President and pass the baton to LaRene Cox who will take us to the next level in RY2025-26.

Rotary's founder Paul Harris felt it was important for Rotarians to be familiar with their community, as well as other members' businesses so those early meetings took place here, there and everywhere. This model of moving from place to place - while important back in 1905 - went by the wayside through the years as clubs opted to establish a permanent "home" such as the Best Western Abbey Inn. But you've probably noticed, we are routinely being asked to find a new place to meet.
Right now, SGR has a list of 10-12 locations we can schedule when the Abbey bumps us out. The board hopes you will feel comfortable in giving us your opinion about our choices. So here's the question!
On a scale of 1-10 ... if we need to move our meeting place again, would you support the decision to return to Chubby's again in the next Rotary year?
DG Todd Boyer's RY2024-25 membership goal for District 5420 is "2025 in 2025."Who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?
Rotary Question of the Week
The "awards" in this Rotary program include challenging leadership training, facilitated discussions, inspirational speakers and outstanding social activities!
For a minute, we can take a deep breath and relax because we have had no new cases of wild polio with paralysis- and no environmental samples in our usual hot spots - anywhere in the world in the past week.
We know we're going in the right direction, but we also know the polio virus remains out there with 2 cases in Afghanistan and 10 in Pakistan.
If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annuallyuntil polio is eradicated finally and forever - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale for more information.
