Yes, we're in the middle of the busy holiday season, but the work of SGR must go on, so, board members, please mark your calendar and plan to attend our December board meeting(s) on Monday, December 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Abbey. You are asked to be on time because there is lots to discuss.
The Salvation Army needs our help and since we will not be meeting for lunch on Monday, December 15 anyway, why don't we make that our day to blanket St. George with Rotarians ringing the bell to help our neighbors in need. You can ring at any of a dozen locations from 10 a.m. - noon OR, at a time you would usually be at the Abbey Inn, from noon - 2 p.m.
If Monday, December 15 doesn't work for you, there are other options! Signup on the clipboard we'll pass around for this holiday "service above self" project or signup online at www.registertoring.com.
And, don't forget to take a picture, because it didn't happen if there's no picture!
On Monday, December 1 we will come together for a club assembly (aka our annual meeting) at the midway point of our Rotary year for the following purposes:
To review mid-year progress toward annual club - and foundation - goals
To discuss new ideas and address challenges openly
To elect officers for RY2026-27
To strengthen understanding of Rotary programs, policies, and priorities
Your ideas and input are important to the success of our club. Please plan to be in attendance for information and to vote on possible changes, including club officers for RY2026-27. And we've even programmed in some FUN you're certain to enjoy!
You … or you and your +1 … are invited to attend our annual SGR Christmas party on Monday, December 15 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn. Dress is holiday festive (as per your interpretation) but your ugliest holiday sweater will also be in fashion. Dinner will include prime rib and all the fixings with Carla providing her favorite Mexican desserts, traditionally enjoyed during the holiday season. Some really fun entertainment has been scheduled ... and don't forget “each one / bring one” (a wrapped gift valued at not more than $10) for our gift exchange!
