It's tonight!!! join us for SGR's annual holiday party on Monday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn. NO NOON MEETING TODAY!

There will be prime rib on the menu entertainment provided by the Pine View High School choir, a getting-to-know-you activity and a gift exchange.  Please bring a white elephant gift or a gift valued at less than $10 to exchange - one from you and one from your +1.  Attire is formal, dressy or "ugly sweater."

It's going to be another memorable evening so don't miss it!

It's bellringing time again!
Once again, the local Salvation Army, with our own Bob Schmig at the helm, is asking for SGR's help to raise much needed funds to support those who are struggling in our community.

We have created a group account so members can sign up ... and your service - no matter the day, time or location - will be credited to SGR as long as you use our club code, which is SGRbellringers.

Some of us have signed up for a shift at Harmon's at 1189 E. 700 South on Friday, December 15 or Saturday, December 16. Join us there if you can.

If neither of these days will work for you, please log into https://www.registertoring.com then click on "register with a group" (to be sure SGR gets the credit) then find the day and shift which best fits your schedule.

Questions?  Major Bob has the answers.
Santa needs generous elves to help fill his toy bag for Halchita
James Jackson, his family and friends will soon be loading up his "sleigh" to take Christmas to boys and girls in Halchita.

But SGR's Santa Claus still needs a few more gifts such as new outdoor name brand sports equipment such as basketballs, footballs and soccer balls. These must be good quality because Santa says, "they will see a lot of action."

Santa also hopes to take Nerf toys and new shoes for teens, size 6-8.

Santa James Jackson will be traveling to Halchita with his family on December 15.
New Years balldrop at the SG Children's Museum
It will be noisy, chaotic fun when on Saturday, December 30 from 9:30 a.m. to noon-ish, hundreds of "littles," parents, grands and maybe even a "great" or two will take part in the New Year 2024 balloon drop at noon.  But before that, there will be crafts, treats, and games ... all in the 3rd floor auditorium at the St. George Children's Museum located at 86 S. Main Street.

Twenty volunteers are needed to kick off the year's first "service above self" project of 2024.  Sign up today.
RYLA deadline fast approaching
The application deadline of Friday, March 1 for sophomores and juniors (in the 2024-25 school year) interested in attending RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is fast approaching.  This change is a result of the District's decision to move this popular event to June 10-13 (summertime rather than during the school year) at Wasatch Academy in Pleasant Grove.

Who do you know who should go to RYLA?  For more information, please see SGR's youth chair Joann Coleman or email to https://www.ismyrotaryclub.org.
Bah, humbug ... and a few other choice words!!! Another case of wild poliovirus caused paralysis in Pakistan bringing the total cases of wild polio since NYD 2023 to 12 (6 each in Afghanistan and Pakistan). This most recent case proves, once again, this terrible disease has not yet been eradicated and is still very much a threat to the children of the world.

PLEASE help us achieve RI's end goal of ZERO by joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, 'cause this fight isn't over til its over!
