So far, we have earned more than $1000 for our projects in the community and the world, including Guatemala stoves (but we need to raise a whole lot more before our June 1-8 trip to Central America).
The cost this year has increased to$58 for a full case, $34 for a half caseor $23 for a quarter case due to the rising costs for boxes, fertilizer and fuel in 2024.
Anticipated delivery date - when the oranges are at the peak of their goodness - is on or aroundValentine's Day.

Yes, you read correctly. The date for SGR's 17th annual trip to Guatemala has changed from Memorial Day weekend to June 1-8, 2024. But according to Ken Sizemore, SGR is still committed to adding another 125 stoves to the nearly 3500 already built/funded by our club in Mayan villages in this Central American country.
At a cost this year of roughly $200 each to a total of $25,000 - and without a global grant from Rotary International - SGR will still need to raise about $17,000 to add to the $8700 in our budget.

(June 10-13) is quickly approaching!
Three young men and/or young women from the St. George area (sophomores or juniors in the 2024-25 school year and sponsored for this adventure by St. George Rotary Club) are invited to join in this international youth leadership camp where more than 200 other students from around Utah will spend three days learning together atWasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, UT(no cost to the students or their families ... and transportation will be provided).

Rotary Youth Exchange- the largest and least expensive student exchange program in the world - is in search of adventurous St. George area youth(sophomores or juniors in the 2024-25 school year)interested in doing an exchange in any of the world's many countries.
Rotary International's Youth Exchange program provides young men and/or young women the opportunity to learn firsthand about all aspects of life in another country during a short term (summer months) or a long term exchange (an entire school year).
As his/her concept of the world expands, they mature and develop a deeper understanding of who they are while immersion in another country’s culture and educational system enhances academic and personal growth. Host clubs, families and the entire community are enriched by extended, friendly contact with someone from a different culture.

The restoration of the 1936 monument on the SE corner of Town Square (86 S. Main) is the second historical monument SGR has championed. It will acknowledge the progression of Dixie Academy (established in 1911) to Dixie State University.
Dan McArthur, Rotarian, former SG City Mayor and one of only a handful of St. George-ites who started and completed early education in this building which is now home to the St. George Children's Museum, has accepted the role of fundraising chairman.
Our fundraising goal is approximately $7500, including powerwashing, repairing and replacing stones damaged over the years, new lighting and a second plaque.

New Year ... new count of polio cases! We finished 2023 with only 12 cases(6each in both Afghanistan and Pakistan) and now a month into 2024 there still areNO NEW CASES!
We are so very close to eradicating only the 2nd human disease from the earth so please RESOLVE to help us achieve RI's end goal of ZEROby joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, 'cause this fight isn't over til its over!
