There will be NO REGULAR LUNCH MEETING on Monday, July 1 because we will be having our officer induction / social activity in Pine Valley, but there will be a board meeting. Whether you consider it the last board meeting of RY2023-24 or the first of RY2024-25, there will be LOTS to discuss. We will meet at President Dave Prisbrey's office (Southern Utah Title, 20 N. Main Street - 3rd floor), beginning at noon. Lunch will be provided.

NO LUNCH MEETING ON MONDAY, JULY 1 ... but please plan to attend our Officer Installation Party at 6 p.m. (you are welcome to come earlier to socialize) to celebrate Bryan Thiriot's success as club president in RY2023-24 and pass the baton to incoming President Dave Prisbrey (RY2024-25).

The evening is certain to be lots of FUNNN at former member Lynn Beecher's cabin, located at 250 S. 420 East in cool(er) Pine Valley (turn left at the white chapel, then right at 400 East).

It will be a potluck dinner with the main course provided by the club. Those with surnames beginning with A-H are asked to bring salads, beans or another side dish of your choice.  Those whose last names begin with I-R are encouraged to bring a dessert to share and those whose names begin with S-Z, please bring an assortment of soft drinks or bottled water.

Come early to enjoy Pine Valley State Park's walking trails, fishing or maybe just find a shady spot to take a nap. If you've never been there, you might also enjoy a tour of the beautiful pioneer-era Pine Valley Chapel.

See you in Pine Valley.

The Cedar City Rotary Club, our biggest and best partner in the Guatemala Stoves project needs SGR's help parking vintage vehicles for their upcoming - and absolutely amazing - Car Show on Saturday, July 13.

This amazing event will be held up and down Main Street.

Volunteers are needed from 12:30 to 2-ish.  The cars are fabulous and from all over the western U. S. ... and the "service above self" is easy.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP OUR GENEROUS ROTARY NEIGHBORS TO THE NORTH ... bring your +1 and the kids and enjoy the show at your leisure and you can be certain it's a whole lot cooler in Cedar City.

June 2024 was very busy for many members of SGR, some who traveled to Guatemala, recruited or transported local students to RYLA, jumped from a plane at 14,000 feet, and who have signed up to attend the induction of officers TONITE in Pine Valley. More FUNNN to come!
Our outstanding 2024 RYLArians Carter Anderson, Phoebe Strobell, Ava Miller and Ellie Anderson (Boston Thiriot was unable to attend Monday's meeting) all five who unanimously agree it was an amazing and fun experience!
Good news this week! There have been no new cases of wild polio with paralysis in the world so the worldwide total remains at 11, including 1 death ... 6 in Afghanistan and 5 in Pakistan!

Currently, just 53.3% of 1.4 million Rotarians and Rotaractors give to PolioPlus.

Imagine how much faster we could cross the polio eradication finish line if 73.3% ... or 93.3% joined the Polio Plus Society at a cost of just $8.50 a month or gave an annual donation of $100 until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated.
