It's now been 120 years since Rotary founder Paul Harris and a few of his friends and business associates "united for good" in Chicago, IL. Rotary has come a long way since that day in 1905 and RY2025-26 is another opportunity to do more to improve lives in our community and the world so let's get started.

Yes, we will be "rotating" again this week. At noon on Monday, July 7 you'll find SGR at the St. George / Washington County Children's Justice Center (463 E. 500 South), where Executive Director Kristy Pike will give us a tour and share information about the mission and purpose of this important non-profit organization. Bring a friend, neighbor or co-worker for this first outstanding program of the new Rotary year ... and park in the north parking lot and enter through the northwest door to the conference room!

Celebrating Dave Prisbrey's successful year as President of St. George Rotary, LaRene Cox saying YES to serving as President in the New Year ... and, once again, earning the Club Excellence Award for RY2024-25 (see more on Facebook at Rotary Club of St. George).

The potluck dinner included Dave's out-of-this-world
pulled pork!

The meal also included salads and desserts, including a cake provided by the Hogrefe's, now in Washington state

It was a small party, but lots of socializing among Rotary friends and family members.

Congratulations St. George Rotary Club leaders and members for doing the work necessary to - once again - earn RI's Club Excellence Award (formerly known as the Rotary Citation) by setting and achieving 16 of 25 goals to guide clubs in the Rotary world to another successful year. Anyone who led a song, posted a flag, donated to PolioPlus, parked a car for the PGA, built a stove in Guatemala, sponsored a new member or served in any other way in RY2024-25 can be proud of their part in this outstanding accomplishment! (see details on Facebook at Rotary Club of St. George).

D5420 Governor Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm's membership goal in RY2025-26 is 200
(a net gain of 4 for each of Utah's 45 clubs) by June 30, 2026.  Won't you please help? Who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?

Rotary Question of the Week

Next year the RI Convention, attended annually by more than 20,000 people, will be held in this city (or country). And registration is now open!

The RI Convention in Calgary is now history, but wild polio with paralysis still exists even as we announce another new case in Pakistan.

We know we're going in the right direction, but there have still been 2 cases in Afghanistan and 13 in Pakistan since January 1, 2025.

If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annually until polio is eradicated finally and forever - make this your New Rotary Year resolution!  See Foundation Chairs Dave, Bryan or Dale for more information.
