Once again, SGR is required to change the location of our regular Monday meeting from the Abbey to Utah Tech's Innovation Plaza. For those who don't remember it was formerly known as East Elementary School, please note it is north of Utah Tech's Alumni House and west of the university's football field. And please be advised, parking is best on the north side of the building.

Board members, please plan to attend our October board meeting(s) on Monday, October 6 at Innovation Plaza (see directions above).  We will begin at 10:45 a.m. so please be prompt, because - as always - we have LOTS to discuss.

Welcome Brady Barker as the 3rd new member of SGR in RY2025-26. He earns his living as a private placement agent for Haverkamp Investments headquartered in Ames, IA. He is a graduate of UVU, has a history with the Utah Army National Guard, is a Spanish speaker, Hannah's husband and daddy to two little boys.  He has already signed on to serve on SGR's Public Image committee and is anxious to be involved in any and all "service above self" projects. Please make him feel welcome!

On a glorious fall morning in our gloriously beautiful red rock community, a record 50+ Rotarians and friends of Rotary manned the St. George Marathon aid station #18 on Saturday, October 4. Past President Dave and his team made sure everyone got a delicious hot breakfast burrito. Past President Dale provided fun and familiar music for singing, dancing and running while we gave "service above self" to 3500 half-marathoners and 5900+ full-marathoners in the form of water, gater aid, oranges, bananas and a "whoot, whoot" as they made their way to the finish line.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Dixie Convention Center to help.  See more on SGR's Facebook page.

Utah Rotary's District Governor Suzanne Wilhelm's goal for D5420 is a net increase of 200 new members by June 30, 2026 (that's just 4-ish in each of Utah's 45 clubs).  So, who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?

Rotary Question of the Week

Since 1988, this many children around the world have received the oral polio vaccine to achieve a 99.9% decline in polio cases, making this the greatest humanitarian project the world has ever seen.

RI sadly reports three more Pakistani children were diagnosed with WPV1 this week, bringing our worldwide total in 2025 to 33 ... 4 in Afghanistan, 29 in Pakistan (and 8 more scattered around the world).

While Rotarians know we're going in the right direction, we also know it's still out there.

If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annually until polio is eradicated finally and forever -please see Foundation Chairs Dave, Bryan or Dale to sign up or for more information.
