Congratulations to all those involved in SGR’s recent application for DAF funding from Utah Rotary District 5420. Completed by Ken Sizemore with input from Dan Strobell, our application was submitted and accepted and a $10,000 check is on its way for our 2025 Guatemala stoves project -Rotary District 5420's "Service Project of the Year" (RY2023-24).
“Donor Advised Funds” are grant monies from the interest accrued on an endowment over and above the $200,000 excess from the 2007 Rotary International Convention in Salt Lake City.

The PGA, it seems, has really deep pockets so the parking project at Black Desert generated a VERY healthy sum of $$$ for Washington City, St. George Sunrise and Mesquite Rotary clubs, as well as for the St. George Children's Museum and Utah Tech's Women's Rugby Team. In addition, the board of directors of SGR's Foundation has also voted "yes" to funding the "mass vs. weights" display in the new Space Science Room at the St. George Children's Museum AND giving Scout Troops 42 and 407 money for their programs in 2025.

Bellringers for the Salvation Army's holiday fundraiser are still very much needed during the five weeks between Monday, November 18 and Tuesday, December 24 at any of 15 locations around town, including Albertson’s, Smith’s, Harmon’s, Hurst Ace Hardware or Walmart’s in Washington County (some have two doors so need two bellringers).
Choose a 2-hour shift anytime between 10 a.m. – noon, noon – 2 p.m., 2 -4 p.m. or 4 – 6 p.m.
In past years, SGR has raised nearly $500 in a single day and 100% of these funds remain in Washington County to help those in need in our own community.

Did we ever think we'd be saying "only 3 children paralyzed by the wild polio virus this week" as if its a good thing? This increase brings the worldwide total in 2024 to 71 (compared to 12 at the same time in 2023).
Please won't you join the Polio Plus Society by committing just $8.50 a month or $100 a year until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated? Then the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match it 2x1. But it can't happen unless we all jump into the fight!!!
