Because it is Thanksgiving week, we are sure many of our members might already be traveling or have family in town so on Monday, November 25 we are forgoing a regular meeting and going to the Utah Food Bank instead.
Please join us at 4416 S. River Road from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (or as your schedule will permit), where we will enjoy a box lunch and some "service above self" to help those in need in this holiday season.
This year, St. George Rotary Club’s Christmas party will NOT involve a gift exchange, but instead will feature entertainment provided by some of our very own talented Rotarians and the family of Rotary; an ugly sweater / holiday sweater contest; an entry “fee;” a simple service project for which each Rotarian is asked to bring 25-30 of something to put in a Christmas stocking for a child or a neighbor in need of holiday cheer. And, if that's not enough to make you say "ho, ho, ho" there might also be a few surprises found under Santa’s hat.
Watch for more information about this certain-to-be-memorable holiday event over the next few weeks and plan to join us at the Best Western Abbey Inn on Monday, December 16 at 6 p.m.
"It was a blast," said Ryan Davis relating his first experience ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. Thanks to Ryan (one of our newest members) and everyone else who gave this "service above self" on Friday, November 22 or Saturday, November 23 at either Hurst Ace Hardware, Smith's or Harmon's on 700 South.
But bellringers for the Salvation Army's most important annual fundraiser are still very much needed any day between Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, December 24 at any of 15 locations around town, including Albertson’s, Smith’s, Harmon’s, Hurst Ace Hardware or Walmart’s in Washington County (some have two doors so need two bellringers).
Choose a 2-hour shift anytime between 10 a.m. – noon, noon – 2 p.m., 2 -4 p.m. or 4 – 6 p.m.

This week in Pakistan, "only 1 child was paralyzed by the wild polio virus." While it's not a good thing, it is still less than in recent past weeks. But this increase brings the worldwide total in 2024 to 72 (compared to 12 at the same time in 2023 and the hightest count in the past 5 years).
Please sign up for the Polio Plus Society by committing just $8.50 a month or $100 a year until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated! Then the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match it 2x1. But it can't happen unless we all jump into the fight!!!
