There was lots of good conversation around the iron lung /wrapped trailer display, including an anti-vaxxer who came pretty darned close to telling us we were sterilizing ... perhaps even poisoning people w/vaccines.

Mark your calendar and join us for SGR's annual Christmas party on Monday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn. 

 

There will be a prime rib dinner, entertainment, a getting-to-know-you activity and a gift exchange.  Please bring a white elephant gift or a gift of less than $10 to exchange - one from you and one from your +1.  Attire is classy, dressy or "ugly sweater."

THE "CULT" OF ROTARY

When some people hear "Rotary," they might think of some secret society with odd rituals. Some have even described it as a “cult.”

Why the odd perception? Maybe it's because Rotarians are committed to doing good in a way which involves individuals from diverse backgrounds, uniting to make positive change. It starts as a friendly neighborhood club, but then our enthusiasm for “service above self” spreads positivity throughout our community and the world!

If you believe being a Rotarian means you're part of a global family building lifelong relationships, connecting diverse perspectives, and honoring commitments, then that's exactly who we are. We rally behind important causes, as our leadership and vocational expertise help us tackle social issues effectively.

Our compassion might seem almost cult-like. Our desire to find lasting solutions to systemic problems is about persistence and passion. And if our hope, enthusiasm, and visionary approach to changing lives inspire others, we must be doing something right.

So, a cult? More like a close-knit community of passionate people committed to making the world a better place. Come join us!
