NO MEETING TODAY so enjoy your day off with friends and family. See you on Saturday, May 31 to collect flags at St. George or Tonaquint Cemeteries
(9 a.m.)  On Monday, June 2, we will be back at the Best Western Abbey Inn.

A strong Rotary club requires a strong leadership team.
This year's District Assembly, under the direction on incoming Governor Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm, will prepare board and committee members for their year in office with opportunities to meet with district leaders, including district committee chairs, all who are prepared to provide needed support to SGR during RY2025-26.

DG Suzanne Leonelli Wilhelm and SGR's incoming President LaRene Cox encourage all board members, committee chairs and other interested club members to join them on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (location TBD) for this exciting and informative event, including lunch.

There will also be an evening social for incoming officers on Friday, June 6 from 6 - 8 p.m. at 355 Chateau Meadows Circle in Washington City.

For more information, contact PE LaRene Cox.

FYI, Utah Rotary youth programs are, in part, funded by the purchase of personalized Utah license plates. But District 5420 just learned the Utah Tax Commission passed a new law  (Section 41-1a-1608) which now requires organizations such as Rotary to maintain at least 500 special license plates to continue receiving this funding.

Currently, only 196 Utah Rotary plates are in circulation. By February 2026, we must have 500 registered plates, or Utah Rotary will lose this valuable public image tool as well as this source of funding support for our Rotary Youth programs (RYLA, Rotary Youth Exchange, Interact and Rotaract)What this means is we need 304 more plates in the next 8 months.

Each Utah Rotarian is asked to purchase (or renew) at least one Rotary license plate to ensure we meet this goal. If you can, consider buying more than one plate. Simply CLICK HERE to complete the online form.
  • You will need the last four numbers of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  • You will need to know your current license plate number.
Your support will mean everything to our Rotary Youth programs which are woefully underfunded! Please make a meaningful difference by taking action today!

SGR's numbers were considerably down at both St. George and Tonaquint cemeteries (including the Cremation Garden) for our Memorial Day weekend flag project but thankfully we had a good turnout from Scout Troop 407, a large group from the local chapter of the VFW and even a few from the local community who came out to help.  It was a gloriously beautiful day which gave this sacred place a spiritual feel.

Short on Rotarians but help came from several sources.

Rotary Question of the Week:

Who is
SGR's Assistant Governor?

Another week without a case of wild polio with paralysis - this makes 3 - anywhere in the world, but let's not let our guard down. We know we're going in the right direction, but the polio virus is still out there with 2 cases in Afghanistan and 8 in Pakistan.

If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable $8.50 a month or $100 annually until polio is eradicated finally and forever - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale for more information.
