Once again, SGR will NOT be meeting at the Best Western Abbey Inn this week ... but we also won't be meeting at Heartlight Funeral Services due to a construction snafu.

Instead on Monday, May 13 SGR will be meeting under the pavilion in the SW corner of Vernon Worthen Park where our speaker is ... still TBD!

Box lunches and dessert will be provided.

It's time to "Stamp Out Hunger"
If you had the best of intentions but somehow got derailed and forgot to put your canned meats, canned fruit, canned veggies or peanut (or any nut) butter out for your postman to pick up ... bring it to Rotary on Monday and our own Paul Tikalsky will deliver it to the Utah Food Bank.

Hurricane Valley Rotary and Hurricane City are working side-by-side to raise funds to create a beautiful Veteran's Memorial Park in their community.

How can you help, you might ask?  By joining your neighbors, friends, co-workers, family members and fellow Rotarians for line dancing or square dancing with renowned Scott Smith as instructor.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, June 5 at Legacy Park (Harmony Building) at 5500 W. 700 South from 7 - 9:30 p.m.  Your donation can be as little as $5.00 for those ages 5-17 (toddlers to age 5 are FREE).  For those age 18 and over, it's an affordable $10 per person (unless, of course, you want to contribute more!)

Everyone is welcome whether or not you know how to line dance!

Questions?  Hurricane Valley Rotarian Patty Nation at 435-218-5849 has the answers.

Monday, May 6 was SGR's Latin Appreciation Party in the (Tonaquint) Park where 24 Rotarians and 10 guests enjoyed tacos, hot dogs and fries, corn-on-the-cob, and horchata prepared by Carla and David Martinez. Chris and Eva Parker furnished tres leches cake and a pinata.

David and Carla Martinez brought their "A" game and their Yogi Snow and Snacks food truck
Ken took multiple swings to bring down the candy
It was a beautiful early summer evening in the park with friends

But this terrible disease is not eradicated as we head into summer, so we can't let down our guard.

Please help us win this battle.  Sign up for the Polio Plus Society at a cost of just $8.50 a month!!!
