Officially, Monday, January 20 is Civil Rights / MLK Day so we won't be meeting at the Abbey Inn for lunch and a program. However, we will be gathering - with family, friends and your fellow Rotarians - for our 2nd annual "Bowlio Against Polio" at Fiesta Fun Center where food will be provided by SGR and Carla and David's YogiSnow food truck.
Please plan to arrive at 5 p.m. for "dinner" with bowling beginning at 5:30 p.m.
You will be raising funds for the final eradication of polio by pledging .25c for every pin you "bowlio over," or by signing up for the PolioPlus Society at a cost of $8.50 a month or $100 a year until this dreaded disease is gone from the earth, finally and forever!
Reed is short ... about 20 dictionaries to fulfill SGR's commitment to provide a paperback dictionary to all 3rd graders in the WashCo School District. If you have dictionaries in the trunk of your car because you picked up more than you need to fulfill your assignment, please get them to Reed, as soon as possible!
In the early morning of Monday, February 3, SGR will take delivery of this year's order of sweet, delicious, easy-to-peel California navel oranges. As of this morning, we have sold 23 cases toward our goal of 220 at a cost of $58 for a full case, $34 for a half case or $21 for a quarter case ... the same price as last year.
It is the oranges fundraising committee's hope each member of SGR will purchase 3 cases apiece to give away or sell as has been done in the past.
Many of our repeat buyers tell us these are the best oranges around so don't miss out on this delicious fruit, fresh from the tree!

is "2025 in 2025." Who do you know
who should be in Rotary?
Rotary Question of the Week:
# of members of the
PolioPlus Society in SGR?
Two more case of wild polio with paralysis in Pakistan reported this week ... along with 10 environmental samples in Germany. It is believed - since the # of cases is not yet finalized in 2024 - we may reach 100but for now the worldwide total stands at 95 in 2024(compared to 12 at the same time in 2023 and the highest count since 2020).
