RY2023-24 kicks off at Phil's retreat
We will kick off RY2023-24 with a getaway at Phil Hall's retreat in Johnson Canyon outside of Kanab.

Bring campers / trailers or a tent and enjoy hiking and ATV trails, a zip line, sand volleyball, skeet shooting, horseshoes, fun at the nearby Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Coral Pink sand dunes ... and beautiful views in every direction ... anytime between July 5 and July 9.

Dinner on Friday evening, July 7 and breakfast on Saturday morning, July 8 will be provided by SGR.

On Friday night, we will have a talent show for your entertainment and/or participation so if you (or a family member) yodel, tap dance, do magic tricks, sing, write cowboy poetry or any other form of talent, sign up!

Bring your +1 and the kids for a memorable time!

PS: You're welcome to BYOH (bring your own hammock) 'cause there are plenty of trees.
Work is underway on the Worthen Park firepit
We are a week into the restoration of the firepit on the NE corner of Vernon Worthen Park. This work is expected to take at least another three weeks to complete.

A beautiful new plaque has been ordered for this project - originally built by SG Rotary in 1948 - and plans are being made for a 5th Monday re-dedication on July 31.

Drop by the site at any time to check out the progress on SGR's first "service above self" project in RY2023-24.
SGR's 9th Annual Golf Tournament
The date has been set (Thursday, September 21).  The location has been reserved (Sunbrook Golf Course).  A chairman is in place (Chris Parker) ... and this year's goal is $15,000!

To reach this lofty goal the committee, including Dave Watson, Paul Tikalsky, Ed Sappington and Rob Nodine, needs your help to find teams (as many to 25), hole sponsors (up to 18), giveaway items and anything else needed to make this the very best golf tournament in SGR history.

See a committee member for more information or to contribute.
The total cases of wild polio since NYD 2023 - anywhere in the world - is holding steady at 5 but don't be fooled into believing this terrible disease has been eradicated because it is still, very much a threat to the children
of the world.

PLEASE help us achieve RI's goal of ZERO by joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, 'cause this fight isn't over til its over!
