silly, frivolous things in Rotary which serve no other purpose than to put a smile on your face!
~ “Is It FUNNN?” Committee
Thank you, Paul Tikalsky for agreeing to serve as SGR's song leader (although he warns we may occasionally be singing scout songs). More good news is Daniel Adams has also agreed to serve as a backup when Paul is unable to be with us on Mondays. Thank you both for saying "yes!"
But we still haven't had any takers on our need for a golf tournament chairman (or woman). How about we "cut up the pie" and give three members of SGR this opportunity. One could be responsible for finding teams. One could take on sponsorships and one could be in charge of signage, the auction and other details.
This has been one of our best fundraisers over the past decade, thanks to Chris Parker's hard work ... so we really need someone (or three or more someones) to step up.
Anyone, anyone, anyone?
SGR was well represented at St. George Sunrise Rotary's "Evening of Elegance" on Saturday, March 15 where we enjoyed the company of members Linda Baker, Rulon and Bay Olson, Jim and Joann Coleman, Randy and Nancy Gordon, Linda and Ed Sappington and Lyn and Jeff Hogrefe. The evening was a fundraiser for WashCo Search and Rescue, PAWS (Providing Animals with Support) and So. Utah Veterans Rotary Club's Santa Clara Veterans Park. It was a fun evening and a great Sunrise event.
Our grower in central California tells us he will be delivering our next order of oranges to St. George on Monday, March 17.
Pay when you pickup at 811 E. Brigham Road with cash, check (payable to St. George Rotary), Venmo (@StGeorgeUTRotary) or credit card when you pick up your oranges.
Sadly, "Jeopardy" contestants did not know the answer ... which is not surprising even after 120 years! Why? Perhaps because Rotarians around the globe have had a history of keeping quiet about all the good done by Rotarians in neighborhoods, the state or the world?
Have you seen the article ("St. George Rotary Restores Decades-old Monument") in St. George News last week? Are you aware this is our 9th article in St. George News this year ... and there are three more stories ready to submit. Additionally, there have been more than 60 posts to our Facebook page and monthly posts in the District newsletter.
If you haven't seen any or all of these stories, others probably haven't either, so PLEASE tell our Rotary stories to your neighbors, friends and families!

someone who should be in Rotary?
Rotary Question of the Week:
# of cinder block stoves SGR has provided for Guatemala's Maya villagers?
Whew, no new cases of wild polio with paralysis this week so we are holding steady at 7 new cases worldwide since New Years Day 2025 - 1 in Afghanistan and now 6 in Pakistan.
If you aren't already giving to the PolioPlus Society - at an affordable price of $8.50 a month or $100 annually - see Foundation Chairs Bryan or Dale.
