Immediate Past President Bryan Thiriot inducted SGR's first two new members in RY2025-26 on Monday, September 8. Rob and Eunice Sittman bring our current total membership to 70. The newlywed Sittman's are also Club 1079's 8th married couple, along with Jim and Joann Coleman, Kolby and Naomi Traveller, Ken and Barbara Sizemore, Jeff and Lyn Hogrefe, Tom and Allison McArrthur, Carla and David Martinez, and Linda and Ed Sappington.
The Sittmans join some amazing young professionals who have joined our club in the past year, as well as new members who have brought a wealth of life and work experience as well as enthusiasm to St. George Rotary.
President LaRene's goal is a membership of 75 in RY2025-26. Please consider friends, neighbors or co-workers who would make great Rotarians and let's help her reach her goal and make our club even better and more impactful to our community and the world!
On Monday, September 8, SGR awarded Dale Desmond, “Rev’d Up for Rotary” car show chairman an apple pie - his favorite - for pulling off another successful fundraising event.
The numbers are in! St. George Rotary's "Rev'd Up for Rotary" car show on Saturday, September 6 featured nearly 50 classic and modern 4-wheel beauties which attracted the attention of crowds of Red Cliffs shoppers; and with the support of 10 sponsors and20 volunteers, sold all of this year's souvenir t-shirts for a profit and banked approximately $8000.
Congratulations to Chairman Dale Desmond and his team for a job well done!
Utah Rotary's District Governor Suzanne Wilhelm's goal for D5420 is a net increase of 200 members by June 30, 2026 (that's just 4-ish in each of Utah's 45 clubs). So, who do you know who should be a member of St. George Rotary Club?
Rotary Question of the Week
In addition to RI's world headquarters located in Chicago, IL, the work of Rotary is also conducted in six of these.
Thankfully, no children have been diagnosed with WPV with paralysis this week as we maintain the worldwide total of cases to 28 ... 4 in Afghanistan and 24 in Pakistan.
While Rotarians know we're going in the right direction, we also know it's still out there.
