There is no meeting today (Monday, January 19) so enjoy Civil Rights Day or your long weekend with family and friends (perfect for selling oranges)! See you again at the Abbey Inn on January 26 when we will celebrate SGR's 95th anniversary of doing good in the community and in the world!
On Monday, January 26, SGR will celebrate 95 years of doing good in the community and in the world. You are encouraged to bring prospective members from among your friends, neighbors and co-workers ... and please bring any SGR memorabilia from the decades for our historical display! Our program will include some of our past presidents as we look back ... and forward!
Daniel Adams, a member of SGR since October 2024 after relocating from Franklin, TN, has been elected President of St. George Rotary for RY2027-28. Daniel, we thank you for your willingness to serve in this capacity (and our 2nd candidate Brady Barker, too) and look forward to the skills, talents and enthusiasm you bring to Club #1079.
Do you know the unused foreign currency you may have stashed away in a desk drawer or filing cabinet can help in the fight to eradicate polio? Please consider donating this valuable resource left over from your world travels or a foreign mission to send along with a SG Rotarian attending the RI Convention in Taipei, Taiwan in June. And, we'll keep collecting until polio is finally and forever gone from the earth. Bring currency from Italy, Germany, Guatemala, South America or anywhere else to SGR's next meeting or the one after that and lets put it to good use in the world!
The 2026 Peace Begins at Home - International Mega Meeting is designed to mobilize peace advocates, families, community and faith leaders and members, civit society organizations and global changemakers from around the world.
The meeting seeks to reinforce a vital truth: sustainable global peace is built through daily actions, shared valued ad strong relationships - beginning at home.

St. George Rotary Club is once again selling sweet, delicious, easy-to-peel and fresh-off-the-tree California navel ORANGES!
To reach our lofty goal of 250 cases, we are asking for your commitment to buy and/or sell to your neighbors, friends, or co-workers eager to purchase this delicious fruit. Here are 3 important details you will want to know:
The price for a full case is $58 - the same as last year - or $34 for a half case or $21 for a quarter case. The deadline to order is Feb. 7 with delivery the following week.
Delivery will be in the week in Valentine's Day.
For each case sold, SGR will donate $4 to PolioPlus for the final eradication of polio to be matched by the Gates Foundation to a total of $2000.
Thanks for your support. See Linda if you have questions!
Utah Rotary's DG Suzanne goal for D5420 is for a net increase of 200 new members by June 30, 2026.
So, who do you know who should be a member of
St. George Rotary Club?
Only two Utah Rotarians are members of THIS RI level SOCIETY. You only need 25 to be a member but Brent Parkin of the Ogden Club has found 44 and PDG Shaun Michel is recognized for 36!
It's been another week without a case of wild polio with paralysis anywhere in the world. This "joyful news" means we finished 2025 with a worldwide total of 39 cases ... 9 in Afghanistan and 30 in Pakistan.
In 2026, please resolve to join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.
