SGR has asked graphic designer David Martinez to create a new look for our club's trading flag based on the 3-4 locations in the area tourists are most likely to photograph.
They are the Dixie rock (aka the Sugarloaf), the St. George LDS temple and of course, Zion National Park ... have we missed one?
Which of these 3 designs do you think best says "St. George?" Trading flags are no longer a "big deal" in Rotary but over the course of a year we get requests for 3-5 so we want something iconic, classic and not subject to change. Please give us your feedback.
You may have already heard, but in case you haven't, be advised SGR has been invited to regularly share all-things-Rotary on KDXU Radio 890 on the first Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Our first half hour program will be on Tuesday, August 4 when Dale will share information about - and invite the community to join us for - SGR's September 12 car show at Red Cliffs in support of Dixie Tech scholarships. This lively conversation will also include ?????, ???? at Dixie Tech and maybe even a scholarship recipient or two.
The Tuesday, September 8 program will find Dale joined by Reed Noble, SGR dictionary chairman and Kathy Hall, literacy specialist from the Washington County School District in the studio to talk about literacy and one of SGR's most important projects.
On Tuesday, October 6, the topic will focus on the progress made since 1985 to eradicate polio as we look ahead to World Polio Day on October 24.

Our numbers were a little low for our Monday, July 20 gathering at the McQuarrie Memorial Museum (aka DUP Museum), but included a box lunch from Great Harvest. Those who came out for a "talk and tour" seemed to enjoy the outing as we explored more than 2000 artifacts from southern Utah's pioneer days. If you and your family have never been to this hidden treasure located at 145 N. 100 East, be sure to put it on your summer "to do" list.

The new Rotary year kicked off on July 6 with the induction of our first new member in RY2026-27. This year, let's set a goal to find and induct one new member each month bringing SGR to a total membership of 84 by June 30.
