What's Happening at the Sunbowl?

The Lions Club has had a unique presence in St. George, particularly as the driving force behind the annual Dixie Roundup Rodeo, for many years held on the third weekend in September.  From the first one on Veterans Day (November 11,1935), the Roundup has been two hours of calf-roping, team tying, kid calf riding, wild cow milking and bronco riding, and which drew a crowd of 1200.  The Dixie Roundup has since become a popular - and enthusiastically anticipated - annual community event with added features, including parades and a queeen contest.  But over the years, the permanent site of the Dixie Roundup Rodeo, has deteriorated until St. George Cty decided it was time to update!  

We are pleased to have Shane Moore, Director of St. George City Parks and Community Services (who wears LOTS hats) as today's speaker to share this exciting project with members of SGR.
