On Monday, August 31 at 11:37 a.m., SGR members and friends are invited to gather at Switchpoint for the first of five 5th Monday "service above self" projects in RY2026-27.  

The location at 948 N. 1300 West (off Sunset) in St. George began in 2014 with just an emergency shelter and soup kitchen. Today, it serves as the heart of the St. George campus, a place where hundreds of families and individuals each year can find immediate support and long-term guidance toward housing stability. 

Box lunches will be served. Bring a neighbor, friend or co-worker.

KDXU Radio's on-air talent Dale Desmond will be joined on Tuesday, September 8 by SGR's dictionary project chair Reed Noble and Kathy Hall, literacy specialist for the Washington County School District.  

This is the 3rd program in RY2026-27 relating to the activities and projects of the St. George Rotary Club.  Set your radio dial for 890 AM or 92.5 FM for the fun, banter and important information about what's happening in Washington County.

Brian Dial is the Director of Energy Services for the City of St. George.  He stepped into the position as interim in July 2023 before assuming the permanent director position in which he oversees local power and utility operations. 

Wednesday, Septembert 30 kicks off the Huntsman World Senior Games (Oct. 5-17) ... but it also kicks off the St. George Marathon (Saturday, October 3), the PGA TOUR at Black Desert (Sept. 30- Oct. 4) and a whole lot of other good stuff happening in our community during the first two weeks of October!

This "service above self" project requires a lot of walking to stuff more than 11,750 swag bags for athletes from all over the world but includes a delicious lunch for all volunteers who sign up (and show up) for either or both shifts.

The school bell has rung again ... and this year more than ???? students have returned to the classroom.  

Washington County School District Superintendent Richard Holmes started life in Ogden but at age 11, he moved with his family to a ranch in Eastern Oregon.  After graduation from North Powder High School, he served a mission for the LDS church in Australia.  He later earned a bachelor's and master’s degree in special education from Utah State University. Richard has worked in Washington County School District his entire career beginning as a Special Education teacher at Pine View Middle School.  He has been an administrator in many elementary and secondary schools in Washington County School District. He has worked at the District level for 17 years as Executive Director, Assistant Superintendent, and was selected as the Superintendent of Schools in 2023. Richard is married to Marnae Holmes. They have 5 children and 14 grandchildren.
